Steeple Lighting!

Have you been downtown recently? If you have, you will have noticed that our steeple is now lit by three large floodlights. This very recognizable symbol of our church will now really shine as a beacon of light to the community around us.

 

 

Gardening at CLC

Gardening enthusiasts that have a very busy schedule, you and your family can adopt a specific flowerbed around Christ Church. Donate your time when it suites you.

  • Weed the garden as a family

  • Mulch the garden as a family

  • Trim a bush as a family

If you would like to participate, contact Pam Kilgore, parish Administrator. You will be assigned a flowerbed and given further instructions.

 

Lutheran Disaster Response

Give new life to people in the Gulf States! In partnership with LDR, we are now forming teams of individuals who would be willing to spend 5-7 days (not including travel) working to assist the hurricane relief effort in the Gulf States. Please consider your participation in this project. Contact Pastor Schlegel.

 

 

 

Restoring the Steeple

This is the theme of our campaign to raise funds to paint the steeple and exterior of the church, repair leaking roofs and the water damage from them, install emergency lighting in the church, and some exterior lighting for the exterior and parking areas. everyone is invited to participate in this effort to restore and improve our facilities for the next phase of Christ Church's ministry in downtown York!

 

Tape Ministry

Audio cassette tapes of Sunday services are available for those who are unable to attend. If you would like to receive audio tapes, please contact the church office. We will need your name, address, and whether you would like tapes mailed weekly or only for specific dates.

Usher Volunteers needed

We are currently looking for interested volunteers in becoming part of the church's ushering teams. While being an important part of the church service, this is also a great way for a person to meet other members of the congregation. Please call the church office if you are interested, or e-mail.

 

 

 Small Group Ministry! 

A book study group, a Prayer Shawl group, a Saturday Supper group, a Dominoes Domini event, grief support group and other possibilities! If you are interested in joining any of these groups, contact the office for facilitator information.

A CAT'S MEOW

A Cat's Meow Replica of Christ Lutheran Church is available for your purchase. The proceeds benefit the steeple campaign. Please purchase one of these keepsakes for a gift or for yourself. The cost of each Cat's Meow is $20. Call the office to reserve yours today!

 

 

 

Archives Room Now Open!

The Archives room located on the second floor of the education building is now open for visitors! The room will be open between services on the last Sunday of each month.

Please stop in and see the rich history of our church. You may be surprised what/who you remember!

 

 

275th Anniversary Activities

Special materials outlining all our activities are being prepared and will be available shortly. Special activities; commemorative mementoes are available for sale; guest preachers being invited and a congregational dinner is planned for September.  If you have any questions,  please contact Pastor Rooney

 

 

 

Parking Permit Information 

When do I need a parking permit for the parking lot?

NO, if you are attending: Worship, a special program, wedding, funeral, committee meeting or on Altar Guild.

YES, if you are volunteering on a regular basis during the week or leaving your car here overnight.

Weekday Parking for Church Business

Feel free to come in and volunteer!! Park in either the Market Street or the King Street Garages and bring us your parking ticket. We will stamp your ticket and you will not have to pay for your time in the garage. We ask that you use this convenience only for church business.
