I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to Christ Lutheran Church through this medium of this web site. I hope that in the following pages, you will see something of what our life together is like here at Christ Church. Through the words that you read and the pictures you will see, I hope that you will sense that this is indeed a community of faithful believers bound together in common mission and ministry in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Here at Christ Church that mission is to reflect God’s love in the heart of York. Located in the heart of the city, we have sought to bear faithful witness down through the almost 275 years of our existence to the love of Christ for all. In our worship, in our outreach ministries, in our care for one another, we have sought to offer praise and worship to God, to connect with the wider community through service and to proclaim the Good News of salvation to one and all. Today Christ Church is an active congregation of about 1,000 members which holds its historic past with affection and approaches the future with confidence and hope as we carry on the mission of Christ in these times.

We hope that at some point in the future, you might be able to join us in person for worship or any of our other faith filled activities. Until then may God’s peace and blessing be upon you.
