Parish Retreat
September 5th-7th at Camp Nawakwa What About those German Lutherans! A look at the historical, social and cultural developments which led to the founding of Christ Lutheran Church-York and how such influences shaped the liturgy, architecture and ministry of our congregation down to the present day.
Toddlers Playgroup
Monday, September 8th 9:30 am Christ Lutheran Church will be hosting a playgroup for children and their caregivers. This activity geared toward children ages 12 months to 36 months will be held the first Monday of each month in the family room. This gathering will provide toddlers and moms with an opportunity to socialize, laugh and renew in a safe and nurturing environment.
Biloxi Bound Pack up the Truck
Saturday, September 13th 8:00 am Katrina giveaway . . . all hands needed to load the truck! Lunch will be provided. Please park in the Sovereign Bank and Wachovia lots or enter the Christ Church lot by the second King St. entrance.
Back to School Breakfast

275th Anniversary Dinner
Saturday, September 20th Plan now to attend the dinner at the Valencia Ballroom! The evening begins with a Social Hour in the lower narthex at Christ Church at 5:00 pm. Doors will open at the Valencia at 6:30 pm. Transportation will be provided for those who do not wish to walk. Tickets will be on sale Sundays between the services from August 10th-September 7th. the cost for the evening is $30 for adults and $16 for children 10 and younger. Hymn Festival
Sunday, September 28th 4:00 pm "Jesus Christ: Yesterday, Today, Forever" David Cherwien, organist and cantor at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Minneapolis and director of the National Lutheran Choir will lead this hymn festival. All singers are welcome to take part. The hymn festival choir will rehearse promptly at 2:00 p.m. This event is being supported by the York Chapter of The American Guild of Organists.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
TBA Room 11 An opportunity for caring for others, sharing with others, preparing warm shawls to give. Come to see what this ministry is all about (you don't have to knit to pray!) To meet others who care - you might make a new friend or 2. To put your skills to use - praying, knitting, crocheting, weaving.. Call ahead to find out what to bring. We have patterns for all skill levels. Whether or not you knit, crochet or weave, please come and join in the ministry of this caring and sharing group. Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Beginning October 1st 10:00 am Meet in room 21. Our study will be an examination of some pastoral letters especially First, Second and Third John and Titus. These brief letters contain a wealth of material which will also prove helpful for us to examine as we look at our life together in community today. Plan to join us for the first of our fall bible study classes in October and again later in the year.
Food for Eight
Join Christ Church members for dinner, conversation and fun. Dinners move to different homes. Join this fun event and get to know more of your Christ Church family.
